One-time sing Friend of MNsings, the awesome Linda Breitag, will lead singing at the umpteenth-annual Prospect Park spring community sing, Tuesday, May 9 at 7pm at Prospect Park United Methodist Church on Malcolm Ave. in Minneapolis. Free-will donation optional.

Minneapolis: Second and Last Wednesdays, Rise Up Singing. New location!  Selam Coffee, 3860 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406... 6:30 - 9 pm. This group uses the Rise Up Singing book, Rise Again songbooks (on loan from MN Sings) and a multi-page supplement songsheet. Loaners available. Instruments welcome. Second Sunday Song Circle Singing since 1990, on the second Sunday of the month including holidays, 6:30-9:00 with a pot luck snack break, 1130 Marshall Ave. in Saint Paul, using Rise Up Singing and our own addendum, instruments welcome. Hosted by Karen Randall

Sing Heavenly Harmony at East Side Freedom Library in East St. Paul. Every 1st Thursday of the month, 6pm - 7:30pm. Contact:

St. Paul: Second Mondays, Sea Chanteys at the Dubliner Second Monday of the month at the Dubliner Pub in St. Paul on Univ. Ave., 7:30pm. Age 21+ only. Songs of the sea, rivers, and lakes. Organized by Phil Platt, with assistance from Nat Case. No instruments, no paper.

Minneapolis: Fourth Monday Shanty/Pub Sing 7pm, fourth Monday of the month, at Merlin's Rest, 3601 East Lake St. Organized by Nat Case. No instruments, no paper. Come early to enjoy a great meal before the singing begins, and to make sure you get a seat! The room is often quite full right at 7pm.

The Merlin's Rest crowd also offers an occasional/quarterly/rotating  Third Sunday sing focusing on songs of a particular genre (gospel, pub carols, ballads, etc.) Call Merlin's Rest to inquire about the next Third Sunday sing date. (612) 216-2419

Minneapolis: Singing in the Light, occasional Sundays at 4 Community Singing for Everyone with Barbara McAfee Very occasional Sundays, 4-6pm Hennepin Ave. United Methodist Church. Minnetonka/Hopkins: One World Community Choir Weekly Singing Circle Called a choir, but no performances - healing singing - learn beautiful multi-part songs from all over the world: Scottish ballads, funky songs from Africa, hypnotic chants from India, hits from the 50's, and the best of American roots. $79 for each cycle of ten weekly sings.
