Minneapolis: Second and Last Wednesdays, Rise Up Singing MINNEHAHA FREE SPACE, 3747 Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis. 6:30 - 9 pm. Bring a thermos or water bottle and snacks for yourself or to share. Location: just off E. 38th St. and close to light rail. This group uses the Rise Up Singing book, copies of Rise Again borrowed from Minnesota Community Sings, and a multi-page supplement songsheet. Sing Heavenly Harmony at Rondo Library in St. Paul. Dates and times vary. Often held at Rondo Community Library, 461 North Dale St., St Paul. Always in St. Paul. Experience community singing in the aural tradition. Through echo, call and response, and a lot of repetition, we embed new tunes into our voices, bodies, and souls and create harmonies together that we might not have imagined on our own. St. Paul: Second Mondays, Sea Chanteys at the Dubliner Second Monday of the month at the Dubliner Pub in St. Paul on Univ. Ave., 7:30pm. Age 21+ only. Songs of the sea, rivers, and lakes. Organized by Phil Platt, with assistance from Nat Case. No instruments, no paper.
Minneapolis: Fourth Monday Shanty/Pub Sing 7pm, fourth Monday of the month, at Merlin's Rest, 3601 East Lake St. Organized by Nat Case. No instruments, no paper. Come early to enjoy a great meal before the singing begins, and to make sure you get a seat! The room is often quite full right at 7pm.
The Merlin's Rest crowd also offers an occasional/quarterly/rotating Third Sunday sing focusing on songs of a particular genre (gospel, pub carols, ballads, etc.) Call Merlin's Rest to inquire about the next Third Sunday sing date. (612) 216-2419

Minnetonka/Hopkins: One World Community Choir Weekly Singing Circle Called a choir, but no performances - healing singing - learn beautiful multi-part songs from all over the world: Scottish ballads, funky songs from Africa, hypnotic chants from India, hits from the 50's, and the best of American roots. $79 for each cycle of ten weekly sings.
